Donate to the Collection

Over the years, donations from the descendants of pioneer families, archaeologists, history buffs, and private estates have enriched and expanded our collection of Citrus County artifacts. Donations to the Citrus County Historical Society are used to research and interpret the history of Citrus County. These artifacts help us tell an accurate, unbiased story of the people, places, and events that have shaped our area. If you have something you think should be in our collections, please contact us at 352-341-6428 or email museum@citrusbocc.com

What We Collect

Our mission is to preserve the history of Citrus County. We are interested in materials tied to the history of our county and the greater West Central Gulf Coast area. The most valuable items may not be “valuable” in the traditional sense. In fact, they may not even be particularly old! The priceless items that are added to our collection include anything that helps us tell the story of Citrus County. Your donation will be carefully preserved and made available for research, education, public programming, and exhibitions.
