Please RSVP at (352) 341-6428.\nIn this program\, Dr. Annette Fromm introduces artist Charles Deering’s commitment to environmental preservation in Biscayne Bay and his world-class art collection he brought to his estate nearly one hundred years ago. Annette B. Fromm is a folklorist who specializes in ethnicity and immigrant cultures and has worked in museums for over 35 years. She has curated exhibits about Native American history and art\, and writes and speaks about multiculturalism and museums\, ethnographic museum practices\, and more. Most recently\, she led the graduate museum studies program at Florida International University.\nBe sure to stop in and see our temporary exhibit of the work of the local artists of artOasis here at the museum in the John Murray Davis gallery from Saturday\, January 2nd through Thursday\, March 5th of 2026. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.\nThis event is sponsored by Inverness Cultural Heritage Council and Citrus County Historical Society.

A fun and creative way to learn about local animals and the tracks they leave behind. Participants will also discover fascinating facts about some of Florida’s amazing wildlife. We’ll have pre-made animal tracks for you to paint and turn into your own decorative wildlife track plaque.\nThere will be a $5 fee collected at the door. Limited spaces and supplies. This prolific\, robust performer – comfortable on mandolin\, fiddle\, guitar\, mandola and mandocello – composes\, produces\, arranges\, writes and teaches across multiple genres\, including an electrifying fusion of folk\, acoustic roots\, newgrass and even chamber. As Collins gathers up innumerable JUNO nominations (5) and Canadian Folk Music Awards (7) won by his various ensembles\, he’s honing skills for work with his Trio-mates: fellow string guru Adam Shier\, whose versatility shines through on guitar and mandolin\, and in-the-pocket James McEleney holding it down on the bass\, mandocello and vocals.
