DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, October 4th at 1 pm\, bring the kids to The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum and join Mr. Trent from Amy Clovis Piano Studio and Citrus Music Garden for a free bucket drumming lesson!\nThis activity is for kids ages 8 to 14 and spaces are limited so please preregister by calling our museum office at (352) 341-6428. Drums and supplies will be loaned out during the 1-hour class. Parental supervision is required for the duration of the event. Our free children’s activities take place on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month which are the same days that the City of Inverness hosts the Market at the Depot down the street at Liberty Park complete with food trucks\, live music\, crafts\, and more right next to the playground. Make your Saturday a fun\, family day out in Downtown Inverness!

It is a vacation wonderland where people from around the world come to bask in the sun or visit theme parks\, and it is also home to Florida man (and woman). As a state built almost solely on imagination\, it is no surprise that our imaginations have sometimes run wild when it comes to telling Florida stories on film. From the Creature from the Black Lagoon to the Skunk-Ape\, George Romero’s zombies\, and the sharks in the Jaws sequels\, all types of supernatural monsters have set up their homes in Florida. Meanwhile\, true crime stories and real-life slashers like Aileen Wuornos and Andrew Cunanan have since inspired Dexter Morgan’s Bay Harbor Butcher. Join Dr. David Morton as we delve into the dark side of Florida on film through some of the state’s most famous and favorite horror stories.

There is a $5.00 fee at the door. Sewing and no sew crafts available to create plush Fall felt ornaments. Limited supplies and spaces and class will likely fill up in advance. Please preregister by calling the museum office at (352) 341-6428.\n\nCheck in on the first floor of the museum. Please note that streetside parking is limited to 2 hours and they do ticket. We recommend parking in the lot just east of us between the museum and the sheriff station which is free all day and not ticketed just in case your time with us runs over the 2-hour mark.
