SUMMARY:Butterflies and Button Flowers: Adult Craft Class
DESCRIPTION:The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum presents Spring crafts for ages 18 and up. Our monthly class will be held on Tuesday\, May 6th at 10:30 am. We’ll be making a bouquet of button flowers that fit into a saltshaker and felt butterflies to go with it as seen in the image on the flyer. \nA $5 fee will be collected at the door to go toward supplies. Supplies and spaces are limited\, so preregistration is required. To sign up\, call the museum office between Tuesday and Saturday at (352) 341-6428. \nParking streetside in Downtown Inverness is limited to 2 hours and they do ticket. We recommend parking in the parking lot just East of the courthouse for unlimited parking for the day in case you’re here for more than 2 hours.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum at the first film that is part of our Classic Florida Film Fest this summer! This event is free. Please RSVP in advance for seating by calling the museum office at (352) 341-6428.\n\nOn Saturday\, May 17th\, we’ll be hosting a showing of the 1963 film\, “Flipper” at 2:30 pm in the historic courtroom on the 2nd floor. For families that want to stop by earlier at 1:00 pm\, we’ll be leading a free activity with kids to create some dolphin paper crafts. Free popcorn will be given out at movie time! Run time is 90 minutes.

Please RSVP in advance at (352) 341-6428.\n\nCome and learn about Citrus County’s early African American citizens in a conversation with members of the community moderated by Andrea McCray\, Andrea is granddaughter of Mrs. Annie McCray\, who was the Clerk of the Church at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years. She produced and saved many funeral programs that we now have as official records. Due to the practice of segregation. many Black people of that time were not listed in County and State records. Andrea is also President of the Friends of Crystal Memorial Gardens Cemetery\, and the panel will also be talking about the effort to preserve\, maintain\, and create markers at this historic cemetery in Crystal River.
