Kids will learn how to turn cards and pictures into gifts and keepsakes for Valentine’s Day fun. The work of artOasis artists will be on display at the museum from January through mid-March. Program is for kids ages 5 to 14. Children must be accompanied by their parents or guardians for the duration of the program\, and folks should preregister their children as spaces are limited. To sign up\, call (352) 341-6428. Besides navigator and electronic warfare schools\, he attended land and sea survival courses specialized for winter\, desert\, jungle\, and mountain environments. Since his retirement in early 2012\, Colonel Schulman has lived in Inverness\, Florida. He is a licensed Community Association Manager and consults on community development and environmental issues.

DESCRIPTION:A South Carolinian\, an uncommonly unique guitarist\, a writer of vivid songs with a strong sense of place\, and a storyteller in an old Southern tradition. All of our concerts take place in the historic courtroom where Elvis filmed his 1961 movie\, “Follow That Dream.” Doors open at 6 pm\, and tickets include appetizers\, soft drinks\, and after hours access to see the museum. Show begins at 7 pm. Tickets to each 2023 concert are $25 or\, for Citrus County Historical Society members\, they are $20. DESCRIPTION:In the first weeks after Pearl Harbor pulled America into a two-front war\, Germany’s U-Boats worked with immunity. Off Florida alone\, they sank 24 ships. Some of Florida’s very features that attracted tourists made it a logical place for soldiers as well. The state\, a strategic asset for its geography and climate\, became an armed camp. Hotels turned into barracks\, and hospitals\, bases\, and airfields increased from 8 to 172 by 1943. The sleepy southern state became one of the nation’s hotspots\, and Florida would never be the same. Eliot Kleinberg spent more than four decades as a reporter\, including more than 33 years at The Palm Beach Post. In addition to covering local news\, he wrote extensively about Florida and its history. Please call to purchase reservations at (352) 341-6428 or visit our event registration link below. \nThe Hernando Harmonizers are a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society\, an international organization of some 23\,000 male (and\, just recently\, female) singers who enjoy singing four part a cappella music in the barbershop style. The chapter was formed in 2001 by a small group of men in the Nature Coast area\, some of whom were members of the renowned Heralds of Harmony chorus in Tampa. One of the thrills experienced by the chorus is competing at district competitions\, where the members sing alongside choruses and quartets from all over the state of Florida. In 2012 it was the chorus’s great honor to be named the district’s “most improved chorus”\, at the convention in Punta Gorda. \n

She specializes in Southern culture and is an author\, columnist\, essayist\, radio commentator and reviewer. She earned her doctorate at Oxford University.
