SUMMARY:Music at the Museum: Matt Stone as Elvis
DESCRIPTION:The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum presents “Music at the Museum: Matt Stone as Elvis.”\nThursday\, September 28\, 2023 at 7 pm. Tickets are $25 with a $5 discount for members of Citrus County Historical Society (membership to be verified upon purchase). Doors open at 6 pm\, show begins at 7 pm. Ticket includes after hours museum access\, appetizers and soft drinks.\nTo purchase tickets\, call (352) 341-6428. Tickets are available for purchase online at https://cccourthouse.org/product/mattstone/\n\nNamed by Elvis Presley Enterprises as one of the Top Ten Elvis Tribute Artists on the planet\, audiences will be mesmerized by Matt’s authentic portrayal of the King in his prime: young\, agile\, and with the voice of a lion! He has even earned the approval of Elvis’ friends and family\, who have said:\n“When I heard [Matt]… now if I close my eyes that’s Elvis. It touched my heart. The only person I ever heard sing like that was my brother\, and [Matt] was real close—SCARY— that’s how close it was.” Billy Stanley (Elvis’ Step Brother)\n“Matt is incredibly gifted & handsome\, with incredible energy and sex appeal.” Joyce Bova (Longtime Elvis Girlfriend)\nMatt has even been heard on SiriusXM’s ELVIS RADIO!\nWith most fans being endlessly disappointed by cheesy Elvis impersonators\, who dwindle the best-selling solo artist of all time into nothing more than a Halloween costume and a lip curl\, this nationally-acclaimed concert is changing the game!

SUMMARY:Free Coffee and Conversations on Those Bloody Pirates: The Golden Age of Piracy
DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum for a free talk by local historian from Floral City Heritage Council\, Tom Ritchie\, as he discusses “Those Bloody Pirates: The Golden Age of Piracy.” Free light refreshments. Please RSVP at (352) 341-6428 or register at the link below. During the 1600’s and 1700’s\, piracy raged on the open seas as merchant ships and more were robbed for their cargo. In contrast to the movies\, pirates were not lovable characters with hearts of gold. They were murderous sociopaths\, but fascinating nonetheless. The Golden Age of Piracy is a common designation for the period between the 1650s and the 1730s\, when maritime piracy was a significant factor in the histories of the North Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Join us to learn all about it and stop in to see our temporary “Florida Pirates” exhibit in the John Murray Davis rotating gallery inside the museum. Doors open at 6 pm for access to the museum after hours. Lecture begins at 7 pm.
