DESCRIPTION:Free Coffee and Conversation: Tunes\, Tastes\, and Tales from the Museum Café with James “Boe” Anderson. \n\n\nThursday\, March 26\, 2026 at 7:00 pm. This Grand Opening Event of our exhibit\, “Florida Foodways: A Taste Through Time” is part of a series of exhibits that explore local foodways and is brought to you by Florida Humanities in collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum on Main Street program. Please RSVP in advance at (352) 341-6428. \n\n\nJames “Boe” Anderson is a fourth generation Floridian born in Thonotosassa. He moved to Tampa in his early years and studied the printing trade. In 1971\, he began his commercial experience in printing. In 1980\, Gemini Graphics Printing\, Inc.\, was conceived and remains in operation. In 1995 the company moved from Tampa to Homosassa where Jim started the Olde Mill House Gallery and Printing Museum which highlights the importance of preserving the history of the letterpress trade in Florida. the connected museum café includes Old and New Florida flavors with a locally revered Ybor city style Cuban sandwich\, Spanish bean soup\, black beans and rice\, and other favorites. Learn about the cuban sandwich rivalry between ybor city and miami\, while taking in our new exhibit of local food history. Bonus: We’ll provide sandwiches to taste and some musical ambience\, as Jim is also an accomplished musician with the band\, Cool Corporate Cats. In his music circle he is known as “BoeCat” and has released 4 CD Albums\, Suspicious\, Dangerous Dreamer\, Sugar Sand\, and Tampa Bound. He is president of the Nature Coast Friends of Blues and offers the museum café as a host to the NCFB monthly Music Series on the third Saturday afternoon of every month.
